The historic city of Nankana Sahib is set to host the annual Vaisakhi festival as thousands of Sikh pilgrims begin arriving from across the world, especially from India.

Preparations and Arrangements

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Tasleem Akhtar Rao, the district administration has finalized comprehensive arrangements for the visiting pilgrims. Facilities including accommodation, cleanliness, transportation, and guidance services have been ensured for a smooth religious journey.

Security Measures

Following the instructions of DPO Arsalan Zahid, a detailed security plan has been implemented. Police officials have confirmed that strict security arrangements are in place to ensure the safety of all pilgrims during the festival.

Religious Activities

Approximately 3,000 Sikh pilgrims from India are expected to participate in the celebrations. They will begin their religious rituals at Gurdwara Janam Asthan, the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

Later, the pilgrims will visit Gurdwara Sacha Sauda before heading to Hasan Abdal, where they will stay for three days at Gurdwara Panja Sahib. The main Vaisakhi festival (Khalsa Day) will be celebrated there on April 14.

Visit to Other Holy Sites

The pilgrims will also spend two days at Kartarpur Darbar. Afterward, they will travel to Lahore and stay at Gurdwara Dera Sahib from April 17 to 19.

Conclusion

The Vaisakhi festival will continue until April 18, after which the pilgrims will return to their home country following the completion of their religious rituals.
